Screamin Eagle Roadglide
Hello,
Got a little delima. Purchased a 2001 CVO Roadglide a few years ago. Best bike I've ever had, and there's the problem. Looking to upgrade to something newer and can't find a suitable replacement. What would the forum recommend. I always thought an Ultra would be a step up but I like the stationary fairing on the Roadglide better. I hate to think I've purchased a bike I will not be able to grow out of. I've even thought about getting another CVO Roadglide but I hate to get off my motorcycle, give the dealership $30K and get back on my motorcycle and ride off.

Same dillema...
I've got 87,000 miles on my '00 S/E Road Glide, and I've looked at the newer Road Glide Ultra as it's replacement and can't justify the trade.
The new one of course has the new frame, the old one has the stronger crankshaft with the lefty Timken bearing.
The new one has a 4.38" stroke and the old one has a 4.00" stroke which should result in better longevity, ( it's all about piston speed .)
The new one might have compensator issues, ( if what I read here is true,) while the old one came with a bulletproof unit.
The new one has the wide rear tire for greater load capacity, but the old one has a tire half the price to replace and I ride solo 99% of the time.
Power to weight ratio is virtually the same.
People still recognize the old one as a limited production special.
The new one has the improved hydraulic tensioners, my old one has gear drive cams.
The old one is paid for...
Not a bad dilemma to have, eh?
