I rather doubt that is an OE rear fender..
It has the look of an original FXWG rear...but, not with those indented holes in the back...
Google FXWG to see what I mean...
I can't know all about what may have been...but ...It ain't common.
i was thinking FXR 79 80 81 the flattened area twards the front looks to be for that flat cross bracket under the flip seat -- and as said by race someone with a drill got out of control
the box for the wiring is the key no one in the aftermarkwt ever did that
Yea I looked at those but it's not the same and the holes that appear factory on it throws me I thank you for your help I actually was thinking this might be a 1940 military Harley rear fender as it's the closest I can find
John mayt be on to something with the FXR...someone made an FXWG style fender for the FXRS...I have seen them..If we had a Measurement for the sidemounting [strut] holes..I could tell you very quickly. the FXR holes are ....Unique in spacing.
Ok measurement are a 6 3/4 inch wheel width. Roughly 29 long. The two bolts and top next to the frame. bar indent ion top bolts are 3 1/2 centers to bolt up. The side or strut holes are 12 1/2 inches center apart and are roughly 5 inches from the back tail and 9 1/2 center from the front roughly measuring across the metal. Hope this helps
