Default Late model bags on my '77

I know this has been done before but I wanted to share with everyone.

I actually had today off so I decided to try and put the 2 mismatched late model bags that I had on my '77.

I started with these brackets that I found on eBay. They are for 86-13 Softails.

They bolted right up to my fender struts/covers and the front bolt went to the top hole of my passenger peg mounts. Did have to drill or cut anything. Did have to tweak the brackets to do what I wanted but not very much.

Finished look:

Do need to figure out something for my rear blinkers. My pancake lights stick out too far and hit the saddlebags. Thinking and narrow street glide rear turn signal bar will solve my issue though.

I think they look very good.
And the Late Bags are easier to get in and out of...and you may not [depends how new] loose the damn Lids!!!

they make a narrow version of the same turn signal bar that is a direct bolt on. Not sure if it narrow enough for you. I have one on my 76 FLH. I'll measure the width when I get home.

I tried a narrower bar and the pancake lights still hit the bags. What I need is an OEM turn signal bar from either a CVO ultra or a Deluxe. Either of those would work. Problem is finding one. Lol.
