Default Springer front-end pulls to the left

Hey everyone,

I'm building a 52 rigid frame Harley with a 75 motor and trans. It's got a springer front end on it. The bike currently pulls to the left. I mean, its a forearm workout to keep it between the lines. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? The wheel is centered.

Thanks for any ideas. I'm happy to have gotten this on the road after a complete tear down over the winter, but it's not very enjoyable to ride in this condition.

nice looking bike! did you check the rear wheel alignment too? it may cocked a little or not tracking evenly with the front.

I checked the rear tire alignment today. It is centered in the frame, as is the front wheel.

Joe has the issue - you need to align the front and the rear as a pair

the rear wheel steering the bike also gives it a wobble some a 35 MPH some at 65 i prefer the 35 MPH one BTW

I don't have a wobble and I'm certain that the wheels are aligned.

Either sit to the right a little or put the front end on a table to see if it's twisted to one side. Could be bent.

Nice sled but a bit of advice from an old chopper freak that springer is going give you problems . They look great but they also bow, wobble, flex and twist and longer the worse it is. Made mail box stands out of a few of those they tweaked so bad.

Someone has already mentioned you should check the springer and ensure it is not tweaked. If it is straight you need to take the bike apart (yeah a PITA), take the frame and put it in a jig to see it the frame is straight. My first thought is the whoever raked the neck may have not done it correctly.

You have checked the alignment..what little there is on a bike. I would think a rigid like a soft tail aligns to the engine mostly. The front is what aligns it down the road with the handlebars. I assume by looking, your tires are not old and cupped. With that narrow seat, next time up, shift your butt and shoulder over to the right. What does it do now? Could be that old timey tread pattern on that front tire?

"Centered in the frame" doesn't mean it is aligned...how are you checking the alignment?
