Hey guys I am looking to convert my pan/shovel 68 from a distributor to a electronic ignition. Mallory has one that is very popular but it is a billit unit and that does not fit the look of my bike. If you guys have any suggestions to help me out let me know I would be glad to havew some assitance.

I'd stick with the circuit breaker ! Very simple and cheap

 

Check out this site. Guys on a couple of other forums I subscribe to use this system and swear by it. Drop in unit; keeps original appearance. Think it comes with one additional wire coming out of the timer is all.

can you put a dyna s ignition inside the dist in place of the points..seams to me someone said you could..points are pretty trouble free,clean or replace them once a year

 

Why do people call 66 to 69 a pan shovel. A pan shovel is a pan with shovel top end 48 to 65 and a 66 to 69 is a generator shovel.

 

I have never heard it called anything but a pan shovel I honestly don't know the difference. If you could help a youngster out and fill me in I would appreciate it.
