Default Drum Brakes Humming

Old FL front drum brakes. I put new shoes on and it is humming now. I can't see anywhere that it is touching. It's as if the springs are picking up a vibration and the drum is acting as an amp. It has been several months since the pads were changed; I thought as it broke in, it might stop. It hasn't.

Any thoughts?

Did you bevel the ends of the linings after they were installed?

The next rainy day, I will open it up again and see how it is wearing. something must be touching something to make the sound...maybe enough time has passed that I can see it.

and I did bevel the pad. The sound goes away when the brakes are applied; it's not chattering.

the backing plate top nut and screw on some have a concentric to the shaft and if you turn it with the wheel in the air you can see the shoe releace - its a dragging sound
