2014 road king no ABS. I put a set of EBC brake pads up fron almost a month ago. When applying front brake I get a whizzing or buzzing sound. They brake fine. Ive never used this pad before im assuming its the pads. Have about 600 miles on them and still buzzing. Anyone have this issue with those pads. Thanks
Im having the same issue with a different brand about 500 miles on them now and its driving me crazy! its not as loud but still very noticeable
i was told by the a tech from the website i got them from its from the pad passing over the "drilled" holes in the disk and i should of scuffed the new pads on a cement surface a little before installing them (a little shocked at that) but they sent me some new pads to install doing what he told me haven't had time to do it tho
It's the rotor going past the pads and the vents in the rotors and hitting the sharp edge on the pad that the rotor hits first. When I do pads I bevel the edges prior to the installation, no buzzing.
Ebc are known for this. It doesn't bother me, it's kinda like the klunk at shift. Just let's me know it's working. I like to keep the pad edges square so it scrapes the bugs and rain off.
I suspect the stock pads also buzz, however are quieter than some aftermarket brands. Over the years and riding different brand bikes I have had some buzz much louder than others.

I would not scuff on cement because you will have fine cement participles embedded in the surface.
EBCs are great pads and I've used them on several bikes. But they do make that noise, at least all of them I've used have. It almost sounds like locusts or something. If it bothers you just switch them out with something else. I like the performance and the price so I got used to it pretty quick.
