Default Loud pipes on touring bikes.

Has anyone run loud pipes on their touring bikes and regretted it? I've got a sweet deal on a used 2 to 1 kerker system available to me but I don't think I will like it on my Ultra. I love the Bssani on my FXD but I don't listen to it for 10 days straight, sometimes as much as 12 hours a day.

Of course my wife runs V&H big radius on her FXDFSE and rides the same trips I do, she says it doesn't bother her.

Not a tour bike but when I throw my Saddleman across the back, have been a long ways in my youth...Think loud pipes are like a 9 year old on a Rollfast with a playing card on the fender brace. (do they still make Rollfasts?)

Default my .02

On my Roadking I had V&H Monster ovals and loved them BUT riding more then 2 to 3 hours, it made me a little nuts.. Louder than that, I couldn't do. My 17 RGU will be kept quiet as I suspect this will be a mile eater..

I've heard some but I wasn't near them to know if they were really loud. They sounded good from what I heard.

I have rineharts on mine. While not the loudest pile they do have some good volume. But from the saddle the sound is behind me so I don't think it sounds all that loud going down the road. On the highway I think the wind is by far louder

I'll tell you, I love the power I'm making with my Pro Pipe. And I absolutely love the sound it makes when I'm rippin' up through the gears.

I will also tell you, on a 500 mile day it gets old. And mentally draining.

I've been thinking about Fuel Moto's universal disk-style slip on. Only $350. On the other hand, $350 will buy a lot of earplugs.

When I go to the next bike, I'll be looking at a less loud 2-1, for sure.

Sure, I run a ProPipe on my 02, love it!

I also use these..tuned, my co-pilot can speak normally, ProPipe sounds sweet, zero wind noise.

I borrowed my Bro's CVO RK with a V&H xpipe and 4" rineharts for a weekend trip last winter. 600 miles all total. I keep thinking maybe I could get used to it but dropping coin on a pipe then not liking it has me concerned.
