Default Test rode a new BMW GS Adventure the other day...

And I like my Harley better!

I rode BMW's for about 10 years, then got the HD itch. Started with an 02 FLHR, then went to a 15.

About 11k now on my Rushmore, and she feels like she's coming alive. Stage 1, with SE breather and pipes. Nice subtle shaking at idle, then smooth as glass when underway. Plenty of torque, and the 6-speed gearing is just right for real-world riding. Picked up an air pump to adjust the shocks, and can live with them, but most likely Ohlins are in the future.

Happy convert here!

Ride safe.

I also had a BMW (R1200R) before purchasing my first HD in 2015. The beemer had its good points but at my age i can't beat the comfort of a touring HD.

My HD is the only MC I've ever owned. There are a great many things I like about it. I'd be a liar though, if I didn't admit that the "potato envy" it generates among haters appeals to my inner curmudgeon in a BIG way.

I too had a BMW 1200GSA before, which seemed to get more boring by the day, so I test rode my first Harley (a street glide) and the damage was done. First a Road king, then a SGS.

I've also got a KTM 1290SA which is pretty stunning, with 160 bhp performance and 8" suspension travel front and rear.

I rode several BMWs ,GS and R1200R. Fun bikes but lack of dealerships and so far to travel for parts ,service led me back to HD. Finally got my FLH in Aug of 15 and I am enjoying it as I get older.I can service it in my garage and buy parts close by.

I still own a BMW HP4. Just to get my Speed Jones under control.. But also ride a 2016 CVO RGU.. The HP4 is fast but none of them have a sole.

I've had a couple of Beemers and a couple of Harleys along with a bunch of jap bikes when I was growing up. I liked em all but I'm most comfortable on my current RoadKing. I do miss that suspension and especially the front tele-lever suspension on my RT though.

I love the adventure bikes. It was between a BMW 1200 or the RGS. Obviously I ended up with the Harley. It was more about having a good looking bike that can tour and cruise down town.

The BMW is a better long haul bike by all means, though.

Dunno about you but I don't think I ever saw a rider smile while on a BMW.....just saying
