Default Wide Glide no more

After talking visiting two different MOCO dealerships today I was told that H_D is discontinuing the Wide Glide next year, they didn't know the reason but one figured it was for redesign.

I heard they were discontinuing sportsters, and all Dyna models. My guess would be redesign frame/model and motor. Probably switching over to the m8.

I just don't see HD discontinuing the Sportster; they may shuffle the model deck a bit but the Sportster and it's beautiful Evolution engine isn't going anywhere anytime soon

Interesting thoughts regarding this new common core frame idea; is it even a Dyna anymore with a common frame? Or is it a Dyna just in model name only? Will we in the Dyna forum shun the owners of the new frame/M8; 'not a real Dyna, get the hell out and get your own forum here on HDF?'

I know, it's evolve or die; but leave the Wide Glide alone; she's the last holdout, the memory of the old days. The change to the new rear fender was hard enough; thank God for the old Wide Glide iron out there

Wouldn't surprise me at all if they didn't have WG next year. It is getting to be a pretty tired model. They have neglected it for far too long. They have been focusing on touring and softtail. They need to take a year and bring it back with some serious gussto.

They did, it was discontinued back in 09' to supposedly go away forever. We all know how that worked out.

Obviousl another marketing spin from the Moco, and soon they will start spinning or Dynas are not safe bla bla bla etc so we switch to the M8, well not for me I love my Bob loved my old wide glide, and as long as my health and right leg holds tight I aint moving away, however if I did have to release my Ride due to being to heavy for my leg, I would end up getting a BMW GS1200 for the fun.

Bring back the FXR frame style with an M8. Dynas are great, but there are some serious engineering flaws, that are pretty inexcusible to not have fixed by now. I love harleys, and I am starting to Love my Dyna, but the whole motormount/wobble/vibration mess is a pretty lame pile of poo to deal with in this era of engineering and manufacturing excellence.

Harley: Love ya; get your act together.

P.S. Also, if I wanted a model that shook the fillings out of my teeth, I’d be riding a shovel.
