Default Turn signal keeps burning out

I have an 05 Standard and the LH front turn signal has burned out twice. This is just the running light filament, the turn signal still works. I was going to re-do the wiring this winter but are there other causes I should be worried about? I've only put 500 miles on the bike since I got it. Thanks in advance

Crappy China made bulbs. Are you using HD? On a very log trip this summer I went through 3 bulbs in a bit over a day on the right rear. First replacement bulb went out in less than 4 hours. Second one lasted a bit over a day. Third one is still working fine after 3 months of riding. The original bulb had been in the for around 2 years.

Looked at the burned out bulbs and you could tell they are crappy filaments.

the socket may be causing the problem, if it is corroded it will heat up due to increased current flow causing the bulb to burn out prematurely. remove bulb inspect the socket for corrosion and discolored (burnt) plastic. clean and apply dielectric grease reinstall bulb.

The bulb that just burned out yesterday was a replacement from Auto Zone. I think it was Sylvania. I'll have a look at the socket when I replace it.

Might have a voltage regulator not working correctly allowing higher A/C voltage into the system.

The signals have been moved to the forks so the wiring has been messed with somewhere along the way. I need to shorten the wires this winter because they are wrapped around the turn signal posts a couple times.

There are bulbs rated for bikes that can handle the vibration Like a 1157 = 9157, 1156=9156

Similar thing happened with a friends car. It was the ground. It was corroded, not getting good contact, caused the bulbs to burn out weekly.
