Default ? On changing out handlebars

I have a 2014 Slim. The bars have internal wiring. I want to swap out the bars. How difficult with this be? Is the wiring hard wired or did HD use connectors?
Thanks. Great forum.

There are connectors right under the front of the fuel tank. Your bike also has small enough connectors that you do not need to remove them to get them through the bars. Do a search and you will find plenty of resources on this. There are thousands of topics about swapping bars.

That is correct; when I did my mini-apes in October, they were small enough to slip through.

Here is my photo-log on my Mini-apes upgrade: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...it-begins.html

Not sure if this will help, but I am not above a shameless plug either

When I swapped to apes on my Slim, I used NAMZ extensions that already had the ends on. Even with the sharp angles on the RSD bars I put on, I was still able to fish the extensions through with a little soapy water and a pull wire.

The bar swap took a bit of time, but it wasn't hard.

As was mentioned, there are TONS of threads on bar swaps. Read a few for some good tips and tricks.

Piece of cake swap, I did 12 inch bars on my '14 FatBoy, only PITA on the Softails compared to the Touring bikes is when you have to lift off the fueltank. That freakin crossover is a PITA, the touring bikes don't have that.

Here's a little tip on how to make that crossover line removal a no muss, no fuss no spill process.

And if you really want to make it easy, buy the pre-wired apes from Hill Country Cycles, they will send the right throttle/idle cables and clutch cable as well. I went that route and it was super easy and they are quality bars, I am very happy with my purchase.
