Default 1997 fatboy

I have had my 1997 fatboy for 2 years now and the ONLY performance add on I have added to it are Samson cannon exhaust system. They sound great! And I know I need a stage one air intake... But what kind? My other question is what can I do to my bike to give it some more get up and go and help me keep up with my dads 2011 103ci.

Welcome to the forums. I don't have a Softail, but I do have a couple EVOs. Any air cleaner will be a better breather than the stocker, for some additional get up and go, you will want to do a cam upgrade. I like the Andrews EV 27. There are lots of opinions on this subject! U suggest you head over to the EVO section of the forums. There is more knowledge and experience over there than you will find at any single shop.

If you have a 97 Fatboy you have an 80 in EVO motor not an 88.

Go to the Engine Mechanical Topics. They have a lot of knowledge on what can make HP.

You can also get a lot of valuable feedback in the EVO forum, since you have an EVo model.

Pull one of his plug wires.

Many opinions on an evo cam, depends on what else you are doing.
How much you want to spend? Speed = money.

I'd say HiFlow AC, then cam, then head work if you got the $. Or you can just go out and drop an S&S 96" or better in there and he'll be looking at your tail light.

Head over to the evo section, lots of knowledge over there. Lots of smart asses, but they're lovable smart asses.
