Default True dual fishtail exhaust

Just bought a beautiful 2001 blue & white heritage classic. Really like the true dual fishtail exhaust but man is that expensive. Any suggestions on where to find them at a reasonable price. What brand would you suggest. Bike is fuel injected so do you need to add a tuner for fuel mgmt. Thanks for your help

Lots of folks like the Samsons. Not sure about the wait for them now but back when I was shopping it was taking months from order to delivery. I didn't want to wait that long so I went with the Bassani fish tails.

Congratulations on the new Heritage. I like your choice of Softail models

Another vote for Samsons here. Try M&M cycles for a good price on the exhaust

If you change the exhaust and use a stock air cleaner, you don't necessarily require a tuner but it wouldn't be a bad idea. If you have a high flow (heavy breather) air cleaner you definitely need a tuner or something to enrich the AFR (ECM remap, XiED, ViED).

American Custom Exhaust or V&H are both good. You will need a tune and suggest a Stage 1 A/F before taking a direction on a tuner. Are you fuel injected or carb? Also contact www.fuelmotousa.com when get close to making a decision.

always liked the Fishtail look too. If you are not looking to extend them past the saddlebags, I am really happy with the V&H True dual with the Fish Tips.

I too love the look of dual fishtails. To me it makes a Heritage look more like an RK or a tourer.

I just hate to have to lose my V-Twin Manufacturing center stand that I'm just starting to enjoy. From what I have read and observed it most likely wouldn't work with the dual fish exhaust.

Anyone tried to make that work with any success?

I would go the the V&H True Dual exhaust with the fishtail Tips. They are less expensive, no wait, sound and perform well, and have a better finish.

Very importantly, you can use whatever shift linkage you want, instead of having to use a special shift linkage for clearance, like you do on some other brands. (don't ask me how I know )

You can see details on them HERE. You can call us to see what we can do to get the best pricing for you.

Besides the striking appearance, what is the performance and sound effect of these fishtail-style exhaust pipes? I see them around a fair amount in these parts.
