Personally, I'm not buying a lift until I can afford a J&S.

You get what you pay for in this case..... I keep my bike on a lift all winter with no straps holding it on the lift... So my lift is a J&S....
Its your money and its your bike!!
When I first bought my lift 7 years ago. I thought it was a lot of money... Now I see it as money well spent! swifty..

I had a sears jack for about 9 years and it performed well. I used it to clean & do maintenance on my softail.
When I bought my Ultra, I noticed that the added weight of the Ultra made the sears jack seem unstable. I just didn't feel confident with my Ultra on it...
I bought a J&S jack and it is night & day different from the sears jack. Although they look similar, work similar, and are by all rights similar...... the J&S is a much better jack.
Now I can lift both bikes and have extreme confidence (I still strap them, just common sense) working/polishing them in the air....
Even the softail feels much more secure, to the point where I'm not sure how/why I felt so confident w/ the softail on the sears jack....
I now have a K&L table lift. Yet, I still use the J&S jack for many things....
