Default Softail Seat Help

Can you put a single large seat with a center spring/post on a softail? Wanted to do an old version bike with a softail and would want to do that style of seat if possible. All I see is the seats with two small springs on them.. Any and all pictures of solo seats on softails would be greatly appreciated. Also if someone has done this, what difficulty would I have doing it?...

Friend of mines Evo up in Maine. This is a V-twin set up. I believe he said there is an issue adapting this to the TwinCam

Beautiful bike. Do you know or possibly find out what the issue was? Love the seat

The is a "swivel" that mounts up between the split tanks on the evo. Twin Cam tank is solid, no place to mount it.

It's not a 'true' pogo style of old since it only moves ~3/4"-1",
but it's about as close as it gets...

Here's a couple of pics of my 2013 Slim with a 'real' '36-'64 clutch cover.

I'd be interesting in hearing how you made the derby or clutch cover as you call it work? I've been wanting the look. Thanks.

The cover itself is a paughco repop version. I used a steel adapter ring
similar to the one in the Panhead style primary cover for twincam thread.
I also used retro-style single slot stainless football head screws as well.

Sweet ride WKNDS. TY for the picture and also for the idea with the primary/inspection cover. Have to put all these ideas in a folder so when the time comes they will all be at hand and my perfect bike will be born.

Does this make sense? That even if the seat is set up without a spring but just a solid shaft under it , that it still would work as the softtail unit will take all the punishment of the road. Would be like the seat sitting on the frame but instead attached with a solid post (to get the look)or do you still need the up and down movement of the seat separately?

Thanks! If you're into fabrication, I guess you can make anything you
want, moveable/fixed mount... I used the V-Twin Mfg 'pogo mount'.

What is probably not evident, is the amount of work it took to create
that 'flat' frame area under the seat & fill-in the hole in the rear fender
where the ECM used to be...

If you want a true pogo seat...and not just the look...the problem for a twincam...is the seat post is no longer in the frame...evo frames still had them.
