Default Are the new Softail front calipers a real improvement?

Got a rocker that I am upgrading the front caliper to help offset several performance mods getting done. Is the new caliper HD is offering a real improvement or is getting a HD Brembo still the best bang for the buck?

Thanks! Jim

Front brake on my '16 Heritage is better than the front brake was on my '12 Slim... Dual front (HD) Brembos on my '13 Softail Bobber, very good brake, but '16 Heritage is as good in average everyday use.

Brembo makes a great set-up problem is you need two of them, lol. If I had to guess I'd say HD is saving money here!

Slim S here, with the new caliper and master cylinder.
Best single disc setup Harley has ever used.
No adapters or mucking about required.

I am running a Brembo caliper off a Ducati on my '05, and have another at the chromer for my '95. I feel these are great calipers. Both are paired with floating rotors and Sintered brake pads. With 123/126 on hand I need to be able to slow down quickly and under control. That being said, upgrading to the HD Brembos would probably be a bit cheaper and have similar performance...

The 'new' calipers are indeed better, but the Touring Brembo's would
be a cheaper route - if cheaper is what your going for.

On my 2013 Slim, I wanted better braking and a different 'look', so
I used an EBC Contour floating rotor with an XR1200 caliper with
EBC HH pads.

I really like this setup. Any info or pics on the swap?

You could also use the Speed Merchant adapters that would allow you
to run almost any radial mount monoblock type caliper from a sportbike...

good luck,

T.
