1959-60 big twins were duo glides-swing arm bikes with exposed rear shocks. Your bike projects Hydra-glide without exposed rear shocks, therefore the second set is my choice.
Also the 59-60 badges look best with a white background, IMO. If I ever two-tone my tank I'd replace my 61-62 badges with 59-60. My wifes bike has the 59-60 badges with the white background.

The badges on my wife's 2005. She also has the BB Reproductions bags and wanted the some red to go with the comets on the bags.
Could you get me some information on the person who recovered your seat? My wife is interested in getting hers done in white, as we've already done the grips, brake pedal and footboard inserts. We're ordering a white leather tank bib this week.

I like the 48-50 better. I think the arrow shape of the 59-60 is a little too dissimilar to your bag emblems.

1st of all, Your bike looks fantastic!!!. 2nd, although I agree with Fskitch above, you don't have a tractor (pogo or spring) seat, and IMHO once you add saddlebags, and especially CHROME rear engine/ bag guards the lack of rear shocks fades.
3rd, HrdNox said the long '48-'50 gets lost in the flake, and I agree, but is that due to the smaller photo and photo shop? He also got me looking at images online to try and decide.
I love how both red badges you are considering tie in with the saddlebag badge and red tail light/ signal bullets, almost makes me want red bullets on front signals.
I usually like the longer tank badge, ('48-'50). I don't care much for the very short one on my Slim for comparison.
Both look great on your Bike, just make sure you mount them level when you choose.
:-) Does this help?
