200mm Metzeler or Avon Rear Tire for Standard
Guys,
I'm getting close to needing tires for my 2006 Standard and wanted to try something other then Dunlops. Unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't look like either Metzeler or Avon make a rear tire size of 200/55 R17. Anybody running a Metzeler or Avon on a 2006 Standard or 2007/2008 Custom rear tire?

RE: 200mm Metzeler or Avon Rear Tire for Standard
yea i put the Metzeler on my of FXSTC that they said was for my bike. and after 2200 miles and some real bad cuping i will never buy a nother Metzeler. i called and complaned to the company to get a new tire or something and they did not even want to talk to me about it. they said there tire was fine and would not hear it. if i were you i would not buy from them i am not. then i found out that a nother buddy of mind has one on his 04 dyna and he is having the same problems. not to sure about the other tire company but i put a dunlop on.

Shawn,
Thanks for the feedback. Not what I was expecting to hear. There’s many post on this board recommending Metzeler over Dunlop, but maybe this issue you experienced is unique to the wide 200mm tire. At any rate, you convinced me. I’m sticking with Dunlops. I’ve got 10K on the bike now and the front will go 12K and the rear likely 14K. So this is good mileage and I have no issues with the Dunlops.
PS: Nice signature pic!
