i had bought a new Metezeler a month or so ago and have nothing but problems with it. when i bout it the guy looked it up the the book and said we do not make a 200mm but we do make a 210mm that will work on your FXSTC.(boy was he wrong) after 1500 mile i noticed that the tire was cupping very bad and my dealler said that the tire was junk. so i called Metezeler later that day and they told me that the tire i put on was the wrong tire. when i told him that the sales man said this tire will work he said i was lieng. need less to say i am stuck with a$230.00 junk rear tire. and later that same week i was talking to one of my buddies and he was telling me howbad his rear tire wascupping and he said it was a metezeler. needless to say i am not happy with then. what really made me made is when they called ma a lairer. but all well they will never get one more penny from me ever agine.

 

I've been running Dunlops for several years now. I've never had a problem with them and they get decent mileage.

 

The only tire I'll put on a Harley is the Avon Venom. It's not the mileage king, but it is the handling tire.

 

On my big bike, I use Dunlops. I can't complain. I get good mileage. I get 11-12k out of rears. I got 39k out of the first front. The second had 25k and still looked great when I swapped it. A local dealer sells them for 99 bucks. They are hard to beat, IMO.

Handling? I ride a cop bike at work with Dunlops. I have never had any trouble doing the job on it.

 

I voted Dunlop because you forgot to list Michelin.

opps sorry about the michelin. i was just fumming about how metezler screwed me and was wondering if anyone ellse had the same problem with them or other brands

 

Avon super venoms on the rear and venoms on front.

 

I started reading the tire threads at about 8,000 miles on the factory Dunlop. Lots of opinions and stories about the pros and cons of each brand. Got a little confusing to keep track of, so I asked myself "has the Dunlop not performed up to my riding style?" I've had zero problems with the factory tire and swapped it out at 11,500 miles.

 

Been running Metzlers for a couple of years now...wouldn't buy ANYTHING else. I think you just got unlucky.

 

Just pulled the stock Dunlop off the back of my Heritage. 7500 mi. Had a little more left, not much. Tomorrow I'm putting a metzler 140 on. A buddy says I'll like the ride. Guess I'll find out.
