Default Rev Limiter?

05 Fatboy Injected

Does this model have a rev limiter, or is it lean with the slip ons?
I am getting a popping and misfire at the top of first gear.

Screamin Eagle slip ons, stock air cleaner, no remap.

All Harley Davidsons have a rev limiter, which cuts at about 5.200 rpm, so you don't have to worry about over reving your engine.

Yes and yes. There is a rev limiter and the bike is programmed to run lean.Even with the stock pipes it is pretty lean. My understanding is that the factory has them set up lean or they will fail to make EPA.

Thanks for the info. Without a tach, its hard to tell. Must be getting a little more aggressive these days.

I know it is pricey by the factory tach/speedo combo is very nice. Quick install too. Just give an approximation on milage and they will program it for you. FYI... Mike

Unless you have an upgraded ignition and then your limiter is set higher.

I love the speedo tach combo. My speedo sensor went out last spring before a long ride. Of course dealer didn't have the part. I still made the trip using the tach to determine speed. I was a little off. Thought I was making pretty good time....
