Turn Signal Mirrors
Hey,
Anyone out there use the HD turn signal mirrors? or the Kuryakyn turn signal mirrors?
I'm installing a set of apes, and don't really want the signals on the bars anymore. Trying to clean things up. I was thinking about moving the signals to the forks, but I kinda like the idea of just integrating them into the mirror. If you use these, or have used them, would you have any pictures of them on the bike. Thanks in advance for any insight. Opinions welcome also.

Brad,
I don't have them, but have looked at them. I believe they operate as supplemental to the original indicators located either under the grips or on the forks. To remove the original ones is a bit tricky as you get a fult light on the dash - recommend searching for details or perhaps someone else might know?

Because the LED's put a different load on the system, looks like a short to the bike's electrical system. Some bike's, but not all it seems, will need a load resistor to let the turn signals work properly. If you put the LED signals on and the lights flash extra fast you need the resistor, if not your good to go.
There doesn't seem to be any ryme or reason for which bike's need it or not, so you'llhave to put them on to test it before you know if you need the load resistor or not.

Haven't taken any pics yet. They look like the mirrors that were on the bike when I got it - might be able to see the old ones on the sig pic. These have a low, longer profile and vision to the rear is considerably better. Price was a whole lot better than HD & they're not as gaudy.
My bike is an 02. Don't know that it makes a difference, but, like I said, they work just fine. Flash in the same cadence as the stock turn signals - have had one mirror and one stock light hooked up at the same time on opposite sides to verify this.

I know my kuryakyn inserts for the stock bullets NEED the resistor. I havent got around to installing them. I just deal with the fast flash and light on the dash after i use them. The light goes off after you turn the bike off and back on, not something permanent. Anyways, my led's came with the resistors.

I've got the Kuryakyns on my Heritage. I had to go behind the headlight nacelle to get to the front turn signal wires and while I was there, installed the load equalizer. Completely removed the front turn signals from under the driving lights. Cut the mounting post lug of the driving lights, drilled a hole in an acorn nut to replace the stock nuts for the drivinglights and wired the lights back up. Very clean looking.
