If you want more back support a back rest is the way to go. Corbin has many options, but the are expensive, and rather firm to say the least. HD offers a few options of seats with built in back rests that are adjustable and they are pretty nice. It really boils down to how much you want to spend. Another suggestion is to look at the classifieds here or craig's list. You can get some pretty good deals there.

I've got the Firehouse backrest as well, and it works fairly well. It does move you forward a bit, but any backrest will do that. The price is just over $100, which is money well spent if you have lower back problems. The other alternatives are a lot more expensive.
If you're willing to spend the money then consider getting a new seat and backrest setup like the Corbin or the Ultimate. The Ultimate seat is a GREAT seat, I've had 3 in the past.

The 2-piece setup (driver seat and backrest) is $505 with studs. They are wide, soft, and very comfortable. But some folks don't like the look overall. If you're after comfort, though, and especially if you ride more than 100 miles at a time then you'll want to consider one.
