Default oil leak or not ?

Hi
Was out riding my 2007 FXST to day and noticed an oil stain between the transmission top casing and the engine casing joint just behind the front cylinder where it joins the casing.
This being my first Harley my question is could this be a leak developing and if so where from? it looks like it is coming from the front cylinder to crankcase joint but not sure.
It is definately oil but not pi**ing out just the stain.
The bike has only done 2000miles from new.

It might be just the leftovers from assembly or the gasket hasn't seated in properly.
In any case clen it off good and keep an eye on it and next time your near the dealer stop in and let them know about it. If the oilreapears after a hundred or so miles take it in and make them check it out.
Mine had a small leak when I first got it, but it stoppedafter another couple ofhundred miles. But I still check it over regularly (and will again when the snow goes away) keep an eye out for any more, just in case.

Could very well be from assembly as Citoriplus has said. Any oil that is on the opposite side of the o ring will weep out and make a stain. Should dry up eventually. Mine did around 3k.

I to have found oil on my bagger in that area. My problem was the bolts behind the air cleaner that hold the entire intakeassembly had worked themself's loose. The bike was new with 1000 miles on it. Fixed it myself.
