Default Forward controls "help"

Just in the process of installing some supreme legends black forward controls..realized i need a new jiffy stand, problem is on 2008s the engine will not start unless the jiffy is up..i have obviously disconnected the mechanism that controls this...now i cant start my bike!!!
any ideas please

Jeez, now Harleys have a kickstand permissive for starting?!! More laws to "protect" us from ourselves. I suspect that when you disconnected the switch you didn't "jumper" the connection still on the bike. Is that the case? Do you have an HD shop manual? If you do check the wiring diagram to see if that's all that needs to be done. If you don't have a manual, get one if you intend to work on your bike yourself.
