Default New Rear Fender on My Crossbones....

Ok, it's not on yet, but I need some input from you Harley Monkeys... I've been looking at different rear fender options for my bones for... well, ever since I brought it home.. lol.. I've finally pulled the trigger and bought a rear fender which will be here Monday. So, be nice if you hate it! The reason I picked this fender is that it's pre-drilled, and uses the stock rear fender struts. Basically, I want to be able to use the stock rear seat, and sissybar. I plan on using the same blinkers as i think they fit most closely what I'm going for. I want it to look like the crossbones, just refined. I don't want to custom it out too much. Looks wise. Make any sense? lol.. here is a couple of photos of the fender. Mine will not have the light or lic plate on the rear. I'm thinking about cutting it near the back to show some more tire. Anyone have ideas on how I should cut it? All ideas welcome!

WG

I will be honest and say I an not feeling it! It does not look bad but I think if you went with something like a Heartland biker kit you would be much more happier. I have there kit on my 2006 softail and it give it a much more custom look. I would check them out. There stuff is top notch!

I've already researched the Heartland fenders and agree that they are the best out there. If I didn't have to worry about riding the wife around, I'd go with their shortest fender in a heartbeat. (and no, using their ugly Rocker looking rear seat is not an option.) Did you see the part in my post where I'm not really going for the "Custom" look... Just looking for something that fits the bike more than the current bob tail. This is the only fender Ive found that will bolt right on.

I like your pictures the way they are.

The oem rear fender looks great on my custom, but not on the bone...

Dont think you can go wrong unless you cut straight accross and it looks too much like the duece fender.

JMHO

I think the stock looks better. That one is too "deuce" for the bones. I also agree that if I were to change the fender I would get a really shhort one. About half the length of the one you have chosen. JMHO...

Here's a crude photoshop of the fender on the bike.

I don tlike the "duck" tail that comes with the bike,..

I'm actually digging it. If I was you I would have it cut to look like the nightster rear fender. It is pretty close to that shape already just shorten it up and I think it will be badass.

Exactly what I'm thinking! When it has the sissy bar, painted denim, has the pinstriping done, break light moved, and cut, it'll be a big improvement.. Man, I have a lot of work to do huh? lol
