My Stealership told me that these two sets of 12.5" apes are pretty much the same and that Wild1 actually makes the Buffalo apes. The buffalo apes are much cheaper. Is this true? Thoughts? I was originally going to go with Wild1 but he recommended I just go with the Buffalo apes since they are much cheaper.

 

I thought the Buffalo bars were made by Drag Specialties, or somethin' like that. I could be talkin' out my @$$, though. I have the Wild 1 12.5", and I couldn't be happier.

 

they are but the dealership told me that wildone makes them from drag spec. he could have been lying to me to sell the buffalos.

 

Are the deminsions the same for both sets of bars? If so, I would find out if people are happy with their Buffalo bars. If they seem good, and they're that much cheaper, go for it. I can say the quality of the Wild 1's is very good.

 

Buffalo center width 8", Width 38.5
Wild1 center width 10", width 36.5

This is the only difference. I'm trying to visualize what affect this has.

Got them from DennisKirk's Scratch and Dent sale for $100. The chrome where the Throttle Grip covers was slightly rubbed so they couldn't sell it as new.

Anyone have either of these bars on a fatboy? If so are your arms inclined or declined?

 

I can say that with my stock bars, I didn't really see a need for a windshield. Never was a big fan of them anyway. But when I put the Wild 1's on, I turned into a giant parachute goin' down the interstate. Fightin' the wind was brutal. That's why I got the Windvest for my bike. I think the main reason for the parachute affect was because of the width of the bars. If that's the reason, it would probably be even worse with the Buffalo bars since they're wider. Just somethin' to consider.

 

Mine are Buffalo Bars 12.5" - got'em for $98.00 from www.zanottimotor.com. I am very pleased. I was looking at Wild1's and the price changed my mind. Cheapest I found Wild1's was $160.00.
