Default Heritage Classic bars on '02 Fatboy

I am looking for a replacement handlebar for my '02 fatboy to reduce some of that neck/shoulder pain I get on long rides with stock bars. I've read that the Heritage Classic bar 56623-99 is a lowcost option and that no cables changes are needed. Any of you guys using these on Fatboys and like them.

I haven't got a Fatboy, but the Heritage and the Fatboy are the same bike. The bars are great. Part of your problem could be wind. I'm not sure if your running a windshield or not. The Heritage wind shield is huge and eliminates any force on the upper body and discomfort I use to get on the 90 FXR without a windshield.

The bars are an easy fix and may be your answer outside of a windshield.

I put Heritage bars on an 06 Deluxe. The only changes were, I needed a longer throttle cable and the front brake line had to be moved. Very easy. I sit alot straighter and NO back pain.

you may want to consider new risers instead. i have 04 fatboy and installed 4.5 pullback risers. no cable change needed and was done in 1/2 hour. made the ride much easier on my back and shoulders.
i can send pics if you like just let me know.

If you dont mind posting some pics and possibly the part numbers that you used it would be a great help.. I just purchased a 2003 Fatboy this weekend and the bars are the only thing I want to change. I am 6'3" and feel a little bent forward with the stock bars.

billfitt,

Thanks for the pics, compared them with my bike and it looks like they will do what I want. Good price to, ordered them already cant wait to try them out.

Any issues that I may have with installing them?

no none at all. just remember to cover the tank with a blanket. don't want to scratch it!

maybe took me 1/2 to 1 hour to do it.
