I use a "marine" grade grease (for use on boats). Doesn't drip or break down from getting wet, etc. Have used it for years on my bikes.

Harley sells grease. It's called Special Purpose Grease, Part # 99857-97. It's supposed to be water resistant.

the harley grease is what constantly drips on the back of my fender. I dont think water is the issue, dealer says heat. But of course when asked for the sollution he gives the standard "they all do that". there must be a grease that doesnt turn into oil above 90 degrees.

My 07 FXST has the drip as well.
Cant get a shot to clear it up? LOL
But im with you. If I dont check it before I leave on a ride it gets all over my motor and everything else. I live in Phoenix so heat is a factor but it did it all winter as well.

Maybe consider something like Aeroshell 7, or Mobil 28 Grease. They are both resistant to water and have an opertating temp from -73 to +149 degree celsius. I use both at work greasing main rotor components on our aircraft, and they are put through more abuse than your steering head will ever see.

Just pumped mine full of synthetic grease. Got sick of that HD crap ending up on my tank all the time.
