RE: Switch behind the clutch lever on '08 softails
Another "Nanny State" thing to keep you from hurting yourself by starting it in gear.
I like to think of it as a way to pervent you from looking likean idiot when your trying to look cool.
RE: Switch behind the clutch lever on '08 softails
Huh? Mine will start in gear, with the clutch pulled. It will also try to start in gear without the clutch pulled! Found that out, but the bike nor me went down. Felt like an idiot and scared the crap out of me.
RE: Switch behind the clutch lever on '08 softails
Mine starts with the clutch out when the bike is in neutral. I have not tried starting it in gear. I have a habit of verifying the bright green "N"is illuminated before I start it since I am frequently not sitting on the bike during the process.
RE: Switch behind the clutch lever on '08 softails
i have a 07 fxstc and i have the switch as well. the bike will start if the clutch in not pulled in as long as u r NOT in gear. if u r in gear the clutch HAS to be pulled in to start the bike
RE: Switch behind the clutch lever on '08 softails
I'm finding this particular thread interesting. I live in the US and have an anniv. FXSTC and it starts anywhichway. I wish it had the idiot switch just for the times I'm spaced out.
