Default Fender Rails on a Deluxe

I've een many pics in the Deluxe thread and have discussed this with several here but am currently stumped. I ordered the parts and when I went to install ran into a small problem, there's no place to secure the front of the rail to the fender.

The stock Deluxe fender tip is secured with two screws and the fender rail requires a single screw in the middle of the fender. For those that have installed them, how did you work around this, are you not securing the front and only on the sides? Or did you manufacture someting as a workaround?

Thanks for your help.

I have one installed on my Deluxe and the 2 mounting points on each side of the fender are all that is needed.
The tab in the middle tip just sits up in the fender unattatched.

Thanks for the post, does the rear one only mount on the strut and is unattached under the fender as well?

My brain says they would flop around but if you say they do not then I'll give it a whirl.

Yes, the center mounts go unattached, Ive seen them attached if you prefer to drill the holes.

Is this the HD Heritage rail, and is the only fit problem the fact that the tab is unsecured without drilling?

Im not sure if this is the right answer for you, I fastened it on to the last hole on the fender strut. Worked for me with no issues. Your rail looks short?

I saw that there are3 torx bits straight across, then after that there are 2 holes that are capped of with chrome tabs at the very end, did you use those?

Yes, I did remove the last chrome cap to secure the rail.
