I’m looking to replace my 2008 Deluxe stock headlight with a Nacelle. I keep running into things that state that a Nacelle light will not fit a FLSTN. I know some here have them on their bikes.

My question is why does Harley state it won’t fit? Is it because of the risers or something else? Also for those who have this light, where did you get it and did you have to replace the auxiliary light bar? Thanks for the help.

 

The Heritage nacelle fit my 07 Deluxe, I didnt use the cap that goes over the riser, I hadused the original risers and had them machineddown to 2inches,Using the original light bar, I just had to grindthe spacers to make it fit.

 

Isn't the Nacelle the ring that goes around the headlight?The Deluxe on the cover of the 2008 parts catalog has the visor style trim ring collection on it. Part #69734-05. I'am not sure I understand the problem. []If you can get your hands on one of these catalogs, there are severel styles listed.

 

No, the nacelle has a different shape then the stock one we have now. I have the trim ring on the stock headlight that is on the cover of the catalog.

07Deluxe, what spacers are you talking about? I see a few, but not sure if they are the same you are talking about. I don't want to grind down the wrong ones.

 

I don't have pictures of the (passing light) light bar, when you install the nacelle it widens the fork area the light bar is attached to, I had to trim off a bit of the spacer between the light bar and where the fork attaches to accommodate the extra width, I hope this make sense.

I just finished having mine put on by a friend while i was gone . I can tell you this if you want the full kit installed meaning the cover that completes the set up and gives it a finised look you will have to change the risers to stock fatboy before 07 or stock hertiage. also if you want to use a windshield you will have to cut the windshield to fit the new assembley. With the windshield on you really do not see the beautiful look of the Nacelle

I just started trying to put my nacelle on my Deluxe and have a few questions. Were the nacelle meets the cowbells there seems to be a gap were they meet, the stock cover overlapped the cowbells a little. also i was going to use the stock risers , but they seem to wide and the nacelle won't fit in the back. Also were the top of the nacelle bolts on did you need a spacer?
Really pissed about the riser being to wide and i really don't want to grind the nacelle, afraid it will rust or peel if i grind.
