Default Fat Boy Gas Mileage Improvement

I was not expecting this but since I switched from the factory oil to Amsoil MCV I have seen about a 3mpg improvement on the two tanks I have run through it since the change. I was gettingabout 37 around town, now I am getting about 40.The change was done at the 1K service. This is only for in town riding, since I have sadly not taken it on a road trip since the change. The bike is stillstock otherwise. I amcertainly not complaining sincewe have eclipsed the $4 per gallon markfor 91octane fuel here in AZ.Has anyone seen a gas mileage improvementcorrelationto synthetic oil?

Try paying the eqivalent of over $10 a gallon as we do here in the uk - it stinks!

Do Harley make a diesel, mind you that would cost nearer $11 a galllon!

I have not noticed and increase in fuel mileage but I had the motor broke down and rebuilt at the 300 mile mark so I cant say. When I rebuilt the motor I changed to synthetic.

Cant say that I have, but I get a steady 43 MPG all the time. It never changes, or doesnt appear to. I have to switch to reserve at about the same mileage each tank and I put the same amount in each time. I am impressed, especially since my last bike, an old Magna with a 700cc motor would only give me 35mpg.

My Fatty is getting right around the 50 MPG mark, and that is with the wife on it. As long as I don't beat it up too bad
