Default Squeaks in the Rear End

Hello all,
I've got a NT that has started squeaking in the rear end. It's coming from the suspension, when I sit on it, ride over bumps, etc.. it happens. Not being a mechanic I usually let the dealer maintain my bike but I'm thinking it just needs oiled or greased and don't need to speed a couple hundred bucks for them to tell me that. Any ideas where to start? Thanks

My loud squeak turned out to be one of my chrome covers. I swore it was the shocks but when I started pressing on the covers and bounced up and down, I found the culprit.

Here's you problem. Been there done that. Where the shock ends go over the softail connection point it has dried out to the point where it will snap crack or squeek. Brush some synthetic oil on the outside of the ends(pivots)and it will seep into the pivot and softail bar in a couple of days. It's what I use, but other oil will work as well. Been a year now and no more noise, but I will give it a light shot whenever I do fluid changes from now on.
