anyone know how to get the acorn nut loose that holds the bag support on without wrecking the rubber bushing on heritage bags. seems to just twist without coming off .

 

You might have to just buy a new set. I ripped both of mine, went to HD and they robbed me for $12.00 each............[:@]&nbsp\\;Poor design

 

Try holding the other end of the bolt with a 1/2 inch wrench. Works for me.

 

Grip thread end of bolt with vise grips, loosen acorn nut with 1/2' wrench.&nbsp\\; Then apply Red Loctite to bolt end,&nbsp\\;grip rubber and screw it&nbsp\\;into mounting bracket as tight as you can. Just another piece of HD's crappy design so you will have to go buy another one.&nbsp\\; Hrd Rider

 

ok maybe its just me not understanding here but on my 2013 I don't see a "1/2 nut" to grab ahold of once the rubber comes off ?

 

@SArge1952 your best bet is to start a new thread about the problem you may be having, both of the threads you posted in are over 10 years old and the original posters haven't been in just as long. Describe your problems and issues and post pictures.
