Default 2007 FXSTC front signal relocation kit

Has anyone done this and why do the Harley instructions have you remove the fuel tank so you can disconnect the turn signals, relocate them just to reconnect, can't they just move down from the mini apes without all that extra work, don't want to remove the fuel tank if it's not necessary.
Thanks to all in advance.

I suspect because they don't want you to twist the wires.&nbsp\\; I did'nt pull the tank. Just wind the signal a few turns backwards before you thread it back on so that the leads come out straight.

I just cut the wires and re spliced them then heat shrinked it.&nbsp\\; Looks great and was much quicker then taking off the tank.

When I did mine I already had the tank off so it wasn't much of a problem and I covered the plastic with a mesh that looks better.

Thanks guys, I just ran the wires down to the fork for now, they move free and clear but will relocate correctly when I pull the tank over the winter and install drag bars.
Thanks again
