Default Baker 7 Speed

Baker has put out a new 7 speed tranny called the DD7&nbsp\\;for the 07 &amp\\; up twin cams apparently it is a direct bolt up, to help compensate for low end performance.&nbsp\\; I saw it in the American Iron Mag.&nbsp\\; If anyone decides to go with this, i sure would like some input..

the dd7 isn't scheduled to come out til august 1, 2008.&nbsp\\; but i wouldn't mind having one if it wasn't too much for my wallet.

exactly...it's overkill...the 6-speed in the 07 up bikes is only good above 60 mph...why would you need&nbsp\\;a 7th&nbsp\\;gear anyway?

There's a low end performance problem? For what baker is likely to get for the DD7, you can buy some nice performace upgrades.

I understand it is basically for the touring bikes that need more pull in first and second because of the weight they can haul when loaded. The top gear is not really any different from the standard 6. I just installed the SE 6 gearset in my 06, and am extremely happy. I don't need the 7 for my Fatboy!
