Default Brake, Turnsignal, and Run module question

Just bought a Brake, Turnsignal, and Run module. Sounds like a great idea to be more visible at all times. On the package it states that it "will not fit with the narrow directional bar". I really don't understand why not? My bike came with the narrow bar, so I do not have the standard bar. And all it does is plug under the seat???

Any advice on why I should not go ahead and install the module?

I'm not going to be much help on your specific question....... but if it were me (and I didn't read the fitment until I got home) I would plug it in anyway (with a new fuse in hand) and see what happens. Some people haven't been happy with those in general, preferring the old one (now obsolete) that was just turn and brake (no running), me included. They feel there is not sufficient difference between the running brightness and the increased brightness when braking. In my case, I didn't think I needed running as much as I need lots of bright red lighting up whenever I hit the brakes. I wish they would make a simple dual filiment conversion for the rear signals. I found an old style turn/brake module on-line (my original one crapped out on me) and put that on. Good to go again.

Sorry for not knowing the answer to what you asked.

Dustmaker, I just bought one this afternoon for my Deluxe. It states plainly on the package that the conversion is not DOT legal with the narrow light bar. I assume something about the lights being too close together and all the same color so that the turn signals might not be as noticable or something, but I put it on anyway as I prefer more light on the fender. Perhaps that is the situation with yours?

Can you give us the year and model of your bike and the part number of the kit?

I have a 2000 Heritage and the part number of my kit is 69461-06A. I did just plug it in to see if the lights were to close to each other, but looks fine to me?

CrawdadAZ - I am going with regular red 1156 in the turn/running lights and good size LED in the tail/brake light. Seems to be a pretty good difference in lighting.

Hidalgo is right. I have it on my Heritage and will probably get it for the wife's Deluxe. That is unless I can find another way to get her some light back there. As is the only thing she has is the single tail light.

Maybe then I can convince her she doesn't need to wear this loud safety vest all the time.

That is the way I see it...better safe than sorry. The more light I can get turned on, the better everyone should be able to see me.

A noticeable difference in brightness from tail to brake. It also pulses the brake lights 3 times before going solid.

or just add the Signal Dynamics Back Off module for the light pulsing...More noticeable and great on my NT cause its all black and barely seen at night.

for LED lights use this version

+1 on the more light, better safe than sorry
