I wish to install the mini ape that harley offers. Will I need to get new lines and so on for it? Will the stock ones do?

 

Ape hangers? Eh, most uncomfortable and unsightly handlbars made. Remind me of buckhorn handlebars. Not many good looking handlebar options by Harley, their best looking ones and one of the most comfortable ones as well are their Streetslammer series setup. Of course, this is only an opinion, and well all know the saying with those, lol.

 

I ditched the mini apes on my FXSTC and put on 8" rise internally wired drag bars. I love the feel now. But I know alot of people love the apes. Just make sure you don't go too high if you want to ride comfortably.

 

I put the '07 Softail Custom bars (8") on my '06 Fatboy and did not have to get new cables. If you go any higher than that you will need cables. Made a big difference in position, I can sit straight up instead of leaning forward on the stock Fatboy bars.
