Default Oil Leak

I have an 08 Softail Custom with about 1800 miles on it.

I had it serviced at the dealer at 1000 miles.

I now am seeing oil running down the right side of the front of the engine. It looks like it is coming from the two allen head sealing screws where the oil filter is attached.
The oil filter is dry so I know it is not leaking from the oil filter.

The dealer said to keep an eye on it and maybe bring it down and they can remove the screws and reseal them and re-install them.

I want to clean the engine real good and ride it and see exactly where it is coming from.

So now how do I get all the oil off the front of my black engine case without staining it?

Also, there is some type of Electrical box on the front of the engine, can I remove that to clean behind it?

Thanks

Ride Safe

use S 100 total cycle cleaner. you can get it at the dealer and it works awesome. spray it on, let it sit for a min then hose off

oh, that blows!

so, I assume it was NOT leaking prior to your 1K service?

I like believing it's something the dealer did not tighten up properly on the service rather than a factory build problem...not that it's good thing, but you know what I mean....

I agree with the other poster....S100, incredible stuff. If you have a leaf blower, you can flip it on after washing the bike down real good with a hose to remove all of the S100. Your FXSTC will be clean, dry, and you never have to touch the bike!

I had the exact leak on my 2008 Night Train. It was the top plug. The dealer took it out and resealed the threads and I have not had anymore problems. Let the dealer cleanup the mess, that way if you have any stains they will see them at the time they clean it.

the electrical box you see is either the voltage regulator or above that there's a little plastic box that flips open it has your O2 sensor plug-in for the front head pipe.
