Default No more HD trinkets

Bought 2 of the HD logo silver wings to put on my sadde bags for 27.00 bucks. Had the stidky on the back. Lasted every bit of 30 minutes before falling off in the wind. Might has well given the money to a bum, actually would have been a great improvment. Moral- if in aint broke, dont fix it!

funny when I first got my bike, it was HD or nothin. I found out pretty fast you can find better stuff for way less money, n for the most part seems to be longer lasting.

I hardly ever get HD parts anymore unless it is something important that I want to fit right. But accessories for looks...everyone has the HD trinkets, always go to a rally and find something different. All the HD gas cap covers started pealing right out of the packaging. I once had a dealer say to me, "If you want to be really different, buy this new selection of goods, we can't keep them on the shelves." I mean come on, that means everyone has them. My bro looked at me and laughed and walked away.

I had the same problem. That's why I cam out with Saddlebags for the Deluxe. The ones Harley offered were ugly too small and not real good in quality. Ours are cheaper, larger and better looking. The typical Harley rider is catching on!

I really really (really) tried to keep my all HD Fat Boy Custom all Harley. The more I bought to finish the bike the more junk I found I was getting from Harley. I routinely had to make 2-3 trips to the dealer to get a part right. The bike is mostly finished and now has more in added chrome and parts than the bike cost and is pretty much done.

The last straw was last week the seat broke. When the Dealer recovered the seat they went wild wit the staples. The seat pan was weakened to the point that the pan cracked along the staple line. I was done. Last week I put on an oil pressure gauge.

The gauge was beautiful out of the box first time. The gauge was made by Arlen Ness. Oh, the new seat is Danny Gray.

Nothing like enjoying the benefits of skipping good prep work.

Clean area with soap and water
Clean area with wax & grease remover
Apply something like 3M's 6396 Adhesion promoter
Apply sticky thing

That's funny... I find that most stuff from H-D or at least the stuff I have bought has been way superior to most aftermarket stuff...

Glad I'm about finished buying any stuff though... ;-)
