Default Hawaii Road Trip with a Fatboy

Just got back from a trip to Hawaii, Island of Oahu. I rented a Fatboy out there and toured the Island. There are several places to rent Harleys there and it sure was one of the best rides i've ever taken. I highly recommend it. I rode about 140 miles hugging the coastlines and also crisscrossed the island using their tunnels. It took all day by stopping at everything cool that I saw but the Fatboy was very comfortable. Attached is a picture of my rented Fatboy at one of the stops.

I've been there a couple of times but haven't rented a Harley while there yet. I'll have to do that. There is plenty of beautiful scenery to explore there as in your example you provided. Thanks for sharing.

Default Did ya know...

In '97, bud & I flew our bikes off-island to LAX for Navy transfer and Sturgis (my first) for $500 one way? The bikes did not have to be drained of fluids and were ready to ride right off the pallet. Nice place to ride alright but I got a little island happy since it's only 150 miles around the Kamehameha to North Shore into Wikiki and back to Ewa Beach! Hope ya got to meet some island bikers and go to a party while there. Very friendly bikers out there!

people are definitely friendly out there. it was funny, one tourist was asking me for directions. he thought that i lived there and the fat boy was my bike. he asked me how much it was to ship the bike to the island.

Riding a friend's RKC around Oahu is what got me into Harleys. No better way to spend some time.

I've done the Maui Iron Butt Island Style 3 times. Up to the summit of the volcano (10,000feet) for sunrise and then right around the island, a total of about 300 miles.
Highly recommended, but last time they'd closed the dirt road back from Hana so we couldn't ride all the way round. I've done it on a Heritage and on a Road King.

Renting a Fatboy on Maui and in Palm Springs and LA is what got me into Harley's.

Man, When I was in Maui last september, I was scared sh#tless cuz of the wind. I was planning on renting a bike while I was there but after driving the coastline in our Jeep and just about getting blown off a cliff was NOT cool. I figured I'd better stay on 4 wheels for the vacation. I would have loved to ride out there but my better judgement took over. And the better half was nervous just riding in the Jeep!! LOL!
