Default guys that have the Rocker Heartland set up

how did you guys get the paint and flames to match your front fender and the gas tank?

according to the dealership they are unable to match the flames and the paint might be a little different because HD powder coats the clear coat onto the bike instead of spraying it.

Just wondering how you guys went about doing it

it's not so much the blue pearl i'm worried about matching, it's the flames that i'm worried about.

any good painter should be able to do it. even if they were not an "exact" match, i bet you would only notice if the tins were sitting next to each other

good luck

Default Heartland Conversion & paint match

My independent shop recommended a painter and he color matched the blue fender and silver flames using the stock fender as a reference. It turned out great. I think you will be fine using a quality painter to handle your work. Ask for some local references for a painter from people you respect and if possible check some samples of their work.

i might do that. im gonna go tomorrow and talk to the stealer about chopping my fender. then i'm gonna see if i can make them send it to a GOOD painter, not someone who is going to charge them the least amount of money to get the job done. i'll take pics for you guys.

Maybe I'm thinkin different but why worry about matching the crappy HD flames?.. Ya just spent $2k-$3k on the Heartland setup plus whatever in labor; get creative.. Transform the bike.. Go sinister or go kickass custom but don't worry about matching some crappy oem flames.. I had the deluxe paint with flames and the frst thing I did was pull all the tins and repaint everything..
