Default Wild 1 12.5 inch Ape Hangers

I have a 2006 Softail Standard and considering having Wild 1 12.5 inch ape hangers installed. I'm looking for feedback in terms of comfort and looks.

wild ones are nice bars ....should be fine with your bike..it would be nice if you knew someone who had a set so you can figure out if they feel good to you...kind of a bummer to get a new set on there and you find out they are not going to work for you...ask me how i know that...lol

I just installed a set the same size last weekend, and I also have a 2006 Standard. They weren't made by Wild 1 though. I love them. They are 1.25 inches thick, 12 inches high, 38.5 inches wide, 11.5 inch center and 10 inch pullback. I also did the internal wiring and new braided cables. I haven't taken photos yet, but hopefully I will this weekend. I really liked the wider width. I'm 6'1" and they feel great. Another thing to note, I had 4 inch risers. If I would have had the shorter ones, I'd probably have went with 14s or 16s.

I have the w1 12.5's on my Heritage. Love them. Have no complaints regarding being uncomfortable. No numb hands or discomfort. Can ride all day.

Thanks for the pictures and feedback. Does anyone have recommendations for braided cables. From what I've been told by my local shop braided stainless steel cable eventually turn yellow from sun exposure. Is there any truth to this?

The ones with the clear coating can turn yellow. I'm using Magnum's Sterling Chromites and really like them. Very similar to HD's diamondback cables.
My apes are 18" Carlini Gangsters with a 1.50" riser. Very comfortable for my 6'4" height.

I put 12.5" wild ones one my 06 Fatboy, they weren't quite tall enough for me. So I added a set of 3.5" chubbie risers and now I think their perfect.
