Cool Winter Project under way (With Pic's)

Its mod time, so let the fun begin...

Got few of my parts for the winter project on hand and started the tear down Friday.
~ Chrome lower sliders from a fellow HDF member
~ -2" tubes from BKRider.com
~ Chrome boot covers from ebay
~ 2" rear lowering bolts from ebay

But first...I decided to build a stand, rather than buy a lift (for now).
I had several
scrap pieces of 2x4/2x6/4x4 lumber from other projects and made good use of them.
Measurements: 2' tall x 2' wide x 86" long
The center bridge is removable to gain access to the under side better.

Here are few shots of the tear down:

Left side stock.... Right side -2" tubes, chrome slider
and boot covers.

Both sides on...

I also decided to relocate the horn and coil
while I am at it.
Also removed the under seat post to clean the look up some.
So,
I bought a piece of steel from Home Depot (less than $10) and made a bracket to mount the coil to the factory horn bracket.

Yes, it has claimed first blood...
got my self a boo-boo while making the bracket.

that's it for now...
more to come though.

Just want to say thanx to all who help out around here, got most if not all my ideas from fellow HDF members

feel free to post suggestion too.

Default I like the stand

VERY cool stand, but I have one question -- you say the stand is 2 feet tall -- maybe it's a dumb question, but how in the world did you get the motorcycle up perched there on it ??

Me and my girl pushed it up a ramp, she only weights a buck thirty, and it was a struggle...
when i take the bike down, I will most likely cut it down to 20"

Dude I want to see the pics of it going up the ramp onto that bench. How many curse words were flying around in the process ?

just the two of us, so no one to take the picture...

Getting it up there was a bitch.
But I bet getting it down will be worse because she is 2" lower and may catch at the belly...

Impressed with your ingenuity - the stand, getting it up on the stand, and horn bracket. BTW: Where is the horn relocating to?

thanx man.

Above the rear shocks are two pre-threaded holes in the motor/tranny...
I plan to make a small bracket to mount a horn there, just in front of the rear tire.

that brings up a question.
anyone know of a car horn that might be louder than our harley horn to use ?
