Default Rocker Belt Tension? Advice...

Looking for advice on finding proper drive belt tension when I install my new Tire. I don't have the proper deflection tool, would it be suffice to reset my adjuster screws back to their previous location (they were marked?).
Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've replaced 13 rear tires and only had to adjust those screws once. Maybe someone has the specs in the service manual. Mine is 5/8 at 10 ft lbs I beleive. I usualy wing it.

Ok, so don't torque the adjuster bolts more than 65lbs. Funny because the belt was VERY tight to begin with and I had to have my bearings done on this tire change......they were seized and the bike is an '08??

Thanks

I could not get the axle and brake assembly off without loosening those bolts. I always measure center of pivot bolt to middle of axle on both sides to be sure. If you keep track of how many turns you adjust the bolt, just do the same to both a little bit at a time. In also use a belt tension gauge, but the 45 degree belt twist test is always right on the money.

I take the extra steps because I don't want any probs in the middle of nowhere.

Are you referring to the rear axle nut not being tightened more than 65 ft lbs?
