Default ABS Brakes on a Fatboy = Good or Bad ?

Thinking about taking the plunge for a Fatboy. Sent a pic to the wife on the cell phone while I was at the dealer and she said. " Make sure it's comfy" so I think I'm in. Rode a Fatboy Low last year and It felt like riding a Cadillac. I find my Sporty to small to ride the wife on and I'm hoping the Fatboy will be more comfy. The Fatboy did feel a little under- powered compared to my Sporty but I can fix that

Anywho, saw a black one at my Dealer today and I love the look of it but it has ABS brakes and they didn't have one to test ride. The salesman said that the rear tire won't lock up even in gravel. Is this a good thing or bad ? Whats the general consensus on ABS brakes ? I'm assuming the front tire won't lock up either ?

So here's a crappy cell phone pic

So the salesman said he would sell me the Fatboy for $17.7k

Does this seem fair ?

Why get the ABS ?

Like I said "The salesman said the rear tire won't lock up even in gravel."

Does this mean the front tire won't lock up either ?

The salesman is wrong, but it doesn't really matter.

The front wheel will lock below 3MPH, and the rear wheel will lock below 5MPH.

Yeah man.. the ABS on a bike is like an ABS in a car.. you stop shorter, the wheels won't lock up so you won't get that fishtail skidding stuff..it's a safety system, and it's worth it.. just wish i had it on my FatBoy, but i haven't locked up thus far.

and tell them $16.7k with $1500 in HD accessories

When I purchased my Deluxe a few weeks ago they had two identical ones side by side. The difference between the two was that one had ABS and Security the other had neither. I choose the one with neither. Maybe I'm just a cheap *** or a prefer the simple things in life, I don't know. Just sounds like more **** too have to worry about when the warranty runs out.
