Default Alternate toolkit locations?

I would love to have the side-mounted tool case for my Fatboy, but with my side bags it is not possible. Yes, I could keep in in my saddle bags, but I would prefer that space for traveling. I thought about a fork bag, but I don't like the look. I have the layed-back license plate so a plate bag won't work and no sissy bar.

So, anyone is a similar situation that came up with a creative unobtrusive location for a toolkit?

Maybe a tool roll and velcro it to your leg? j/k
Sounds like the only place left is on the downtubes?

The down tubes might just work, or else the Velcro leg idea.

I moved the leather side mount tool bag forward to clear my Leatherworks bags by drilling three holes in the back of it (it has a plastic back) and remounting it on the metal bracket.

I just saw a guy on a softail last week and he had the metal tool box (HD part# 64216-09) mounted below the left side passenger peg. It looked like he made a bracket to hold it down there. It looked simple enough.
I was thinking of doing the same.

Speaking of the metal tool box. Harley makes it with a universal barrel key lock. To me that means anyone with a barrel key can open it up and steal my expensive tools inside. I switched that out with a regular key one that I bought from the local hardware store for $10. I looked into getting a matching barrel lock to match my ignition key but that was quite expensive from the local keysmith and not worth the convenience of just having one key for everything. It just gives me piece of mind that it is more of a deterrent than a lock that anyone with a key to their Harley or any barrel key can open it. Of course it is just a deterrent. Anyone who really wants to steal it that bad can put in a bit more effort and pry it open.
