FXCW rake job

FXCW rake job
I'm looking at some pro-one triple trees for my fxcwc. They come in 3, 5, and 7 degrees. My factory rake is 36 degrees. Does anybody know how big I can go before I would have to get longer fork tubes? Is 7 degrees gonna make that much difference? Also I have a 2" lowering kit in the rear and I'm not sure How that effects the trail if I increase the tree rake.

Before we can answer the question you have to tell use how much, if any, rake is in the factory tree's. And before you just assume zero, lots of Harley's have raked tree's from the factory. Wide Glides, V-Rods and Low Riders all have raked trees.

The train also. 2* factory tree rake. I might be wrong, but I think all soft tail frames are raked 32*, then the different models have raked trees.

Yeah, thats why I thought to mention it. If they have say two or three already, then three degree tree's will do virtually nothing but drain you of cash. Five degree tree's will make an otherwise stock rake motorcycle unsafe at high speeds and seven will probably just kill you.

After looking at several threads related to rake, travel, and the different types of rake( i.e. neck vs triples vs cups) I'm sure the 7 degree angle is too much for the rake I already have. However; my factory rake is 36 degrees and the factory triple trees are 1 degree. So a three degree would put me at 38 degrees and the 5 degree would put me at 40 degrees.

Also I have a link for jeepcj33. http://www.pro-one.com/TripleTrees_s/56.htm
And a pic of the ones i like, so I can get rid of my factory front signals at the same time.
