Not to slam SC, but I lived in Charleston around 2000 and to me it was an unpleasant city.. Those that say people are friendly are definitely from up north where people aren't that friendly to begin with.
As far as jobs go, well you'll have no worries there.
I lived in Savannah GA as well and I like that city more, definitely more friendly (except for the dealership) but they have got much better.. Same thing for job market too! At one time Savannah was more up on all the fashions and music than anywhere else due to the kids from around the world at SCAD!
But SC is helmet free and in Savannah you do have to cross that bridge to head over to HH or ride up the coast
